Our top nine are all from this fall! Apparently our vibe for 2021 was "cozy." Behind these pictures are new friends, accomplishments, and growth, but also refinement, sickness, and storms. We had a great year learning, loving, and laughing, and we're looking to 2022 with hope, excitement, and expectation.

Our whole family did the @the_firehouse_run today! (Not pictured: Kirk, a very grouchy youngest child, and a very excited dog). We did it, we ran our first official race @sarah_bell_um_official! The fact that I'm still running in December, after a whole year of this new thing, is a big win in my book, thanks for the dedication and encouragement. We beat our first time-another win! A beautiful day and a (possible?) new family tradition-winning again!

Christmas came early! Had to share the exciting news. Got to spend the morning unpacking some of the goodies from my @donorschoose project. I set up a wishlist and wrote about what I needed and 3 local families came through and supported it all! In getting ready to cook with kiddos, I wanted to make sure we could do it well from start to finish, which means cleaning supplies and compostable utensils. This is a fun new addition to the makerspace. We will start using our @gocharliecart more regularly in the new year!

Happy December! Getting to the last month of this year in one piece feels like an accomplishment to me. Every year, there is the tension of busy and calm. We eat Ainsley's birthday cake by the light of Advent candles. Contemplation and Celebration side by side. Solomn and joyous. We feel both, and not always at the "correct" times. Grateful for a sick day in pjs. Reflective during a fun get-together. Let's hold both hands open so we can guide ourselves and others better at the end of a complicated year toward hope in a new one.
