Produce from a friend's backyard... about to be roasted and made into soup! Just going to add some sage and thyme from our front garden and cook it all low and slow. Sharing harvests with people is the whole reason we made our farmstand, and it is so fun to be able to use the freshest and tastiest homegrown produce. We are prepping this veggie explosion for our neighborhood soup night so the circle will continue!

First week of official teaching as a garden/cooking teacher! Some highlights from today- making butterfly puddles and bee bubblers with 2nd grade as we learned about pollinators. Exploring the connection between energy and garden in food webs and journals with 5th graders while doing a mindful tasting of mint leaves. It was a great day. Not to be forgotten, yesterday was also amazing. Kindergartens did a scavenger hunt to familiarize themselves with our garden (and tasted ripe tomatoes!) and a 4/5 class did the food web activity.

Back to school! Here's to a great year for these 3 awesome girls! Cannot believe we're going into 2nd, 4th, and 7th grade... the littlest is the same age as our oldest was when we moved back here from Kenya. 🤯 Excitement was in the air this morning... hence the crazy head cropped last photos. 😜
