Flight Information

Over the past couple of days we've been getting a lot of questions about exactly when we're leaving, our flights, layovers, etc., so we figured that it would be easier if we just posted it all here!

For those of you who wish that I would just cut to the chase (and are good with airport codes!), here you go:

7/9:

Here's the plain English translation:

We leave out of San Diego this Wednesday (July 9th).  We're flying on British Airways, but our first flight is operated by American.  The first leg is a (relatively) quick 4 hours to Chicago, where we have a 3.5 hour layover.  The next flight is a 7.5 hour red-eye to London (Heathrow) and leaves at 6:10pm, arriving at around 8 the next morning.  We'll have almost 3 hours in London.  Our last leg is about 8.5 hours to Nairobi, arriving at 9:15 at night.  We'll then have to get our mountain of bags, go through customs and immigration, meet our host family (who are literally bringing a bus to meet us), and drive across Nairobi to Rosslyn.  We're not planning on being in bed before 1am Thursday night/Friday morning.

Many people have also asked how they can pray for us as we fly.  We're hoping for peace, joy, and endurance as we tackle the 27 hours of travel.  We want even this difficult experience to bring us closer together as a family.

It'll likely be a couple of days before we get our internet all set up, but we'll be back in contact as soon as we can!
