Sometimes I joke that I'm 100lbs lighter going somewhere without my children. And can definitely feel like relief. It can also feel like amputation. Elizabeth Stone described it as "having your heart walking around outside your body." As I made the last drop-off, this flower landed on the windshield to remind me to enjoy the beauty of both feelings.
