Look how inspiring a carrot can be! On the left is a picture I took 2 years ago (to the week!) when I visited the garden at Amesti School and watched my first garden lesson. That day was a revelation. It was the push I needed to start thinking seriously about garden classes at the girls' school. On the right is a picture from a lesson I taught today to first graders! We pulled up yellow and orange carrots again, helping us learn about the parts of plants (and how tasty they are!).
